Spring has pretty much sprung, seeds and sprouts are happening! What (and when) are you planting?

“Great Question” (3points)

I love the time of planting, I love digging in the dirt, anticipating the sprouts, anticipating the harvest.

Today I will put the beans and peas into their pots, and I already have peppers and tomato seeds under the grow lights. Next week the carrots and scallions and different herbs go into the pots.

And I may do horseradish this year. Not only do I love fresh horseradish, but I can use it medicinally, too.

What will your garden grow?

We’re taking a break this year. The chickens, groundhogs, birds, and rabbits have won. We’re just doing an herb garden this year. Having access to fresh basil is amazing.

I can’t get out to weed yet because of the pollen. I might just let the weeds take over and pretend they are flowers.

@hello321 my entire garden is in containers, that helps a lot, and the really loud dog keeps most of the hungry critters away. Except the doves, but they don’t take much, and they intimidate the hell out of the squirrels.

I am planting the seeds of humanity’s collective demise.

We have pulled bulbs for garlic, iris and peonies to give to others.
So far the only thing popping is garlic and early asparagus.
Still too chilly here to plant right now.

@ragingloli , oh, honey, you’re a little late to the party. Those seeds been sprouting for quite a while now.

@canidmajor
You have seen nothing yet.

@ragingloli Dazzle me!

And in the meantime, while I wait for Loli’s End Times, anybody got any tips on growing horseradish?

I thought it was a dip so… no, no suggestions here!

I wish. Last year, I had a real vegetable plot for the first time ever. It was extremely exciting and I enjoyed the sweetest tomatoes I have ever tasted. We also had mini cucumbers, zucchini, a single pumpkin, some carrots, sweet potatoes, and a failed experiment of broccoli. Plus basil and lots of peppermint.

We have to move in a couple months, so I’m not gardening right now. Hope we can still get some later vegetables. And we’ll be taking the raspberry bush, which is looking good!

Northern England here. It keeps lightly snowing, so it’s been a bit of a challenge.

Outside, the fruit trees are sending out buds, along with the berry and rhubarb shrubs. The chives, sage, rosemary, and thyme are budding. Inside, the basil is out of control, while the coriander struggles.

I’m planting a “Remembrance Tree” on Saturday in our local city’s park as part of their beautification and arbor project.

@Pied_Pfeffer Poor coriander. Please tell it I hope it feels better soon.
