Dracula goes to buy a new Iphone. He picks up the display phone, and likes what he sees.

But, will he be able to use it?

I would say yes. The vampire needs to have enough resources like money or if not money then some sort of influence to exert upon a familiar do things that he couldn’t do himself. The vampire could then use the iPhone using his hands. But not when he is in the form of a mist, bat or wolf. Obviously.

Edward Cullen sure buys what he likes. : )

iPhones? Not unless they want to be tracked down and killed easily.

I doubt Dracula would risk having any radio-frequency-emitting device on his person. If he did use a smartphone, it would at least use a 3rd party security-focused OS.

Major vampires are often said to have the power to telepathically commune with their thralls at a distance. So if he really wanted to use an electronic device, he could have them do it.

So we gonna pretend that this is all normal?
This question in general?
How am I going to answer this?

The device is not made of garlic, silver (even though that one is actually specific to werewolves), the camera does not use mirrors (so he can take selfies), and the display does not emit UV rays, and the design does not incorporate any cross shaped elements.
Apart from maybe having problem transporting it when he turns into a swarm of bats, I see no reason why he would not be able to use it.

I think Giuliani climbs into a coffin every morning which is equipped with both charging & USB portals.

If a vampire cannot be seen in a mirror, how can the phone’s camera show anything? Where does the vampire keep his/her phone when they change into a bat?
Which means it is impractical for a vampire to have a phone.

I’ve watched almost all of the Nosferatu/Dracula films and read Anne Rice’s vampire novels. Some seem to maintain their human lifestyles (old, creepy mansions), while others embrace the changing of the times in order to fit in.

Because vampires can live forever, it is highly doubtful that any intelligent vampire would choose to use an iPhone. Apple rolls out a new product every year, which makes previous generations defunct. An android phone will last much longer.

As for carrying a cell phone while in bat form, wouldn’t it depend on the size of the phone and the bat? I went spelunking once, and we plucked hibernating bats off of the cave walls. They were tiny, about the size of a canary, yet clutched the wall as if their life depended upon it. During a trip to Texas, I spotted a bunch of bats flying around a mall parking lot at night, catching the insects attracted to the lights. The bats were freaking huge. Carrying the weight of a cell phone would not have been a concern; using one while in flight is another matter.

My guess is that any vampire who wants to stay in touch will own one.
