That certainly would be a good business to expand into. As fewer key locks are being installed the need for electronic locksmithing is increasing.
I can see how locksmiths could expand and/or partner with computer security firms to provide a total service.
Imagine someone installs a complete Nest system that controls their security system, locks their doors, waters their plants, sets their t-stats, etc. and they get locked out somehow by a ransomware hacker. The future locksmith would have the development tools necessary to override the passwords and get inside.
