Tomato sauce, beans, rice, tortilla’s (corn and soft white), dried pasta’s, cans of tuna/chicken, crackers, peanut butter, dried cereals, oatmeal, pancake mix, a few canned veggies and cream sauces for making pot pies or other dishes.

I also keep some packaged ramen, cup of noodles, and thing’s like that.

We don’t buy or keep sugary snacks in the pantry, or chips.

Other than that it’s mostly a few meats, any fresh veggies or mushrooms I can’t find locally, milk, water and juices/Gatorade.

*I call the pantry aisle the Sodium Aisle, because most of those canned and boxed items are packed full of horrible sodium levels.

“Pantry” items I have are spices (basic spices mostly), a few cans of different types of veggies (which I don’t use but like to have on hand just in case), a few cans of fruit (peaches, pineapple), Jelly/jam, pancake syrup, beans, rice, hamburger helper which I bought but don’t use, tapioca pudding from the box, and sprinkles and cake decorations.

In addition to tomato sauce, cans of petite diced tomatoes. At least ½ case.
Cream of mushroom and cream of chicken soup.
Ramen is great but extremely high in sodium, so watch out!
Instant potatoes, green beans, cans of chili, peaches, pears, apple sauce, cocoa.

Safe Catch Ahi Wild Yellowfish Tuna (pricey but amazing and 50% less at Costco vs. Fred Meyer)

Trader Joe’s Organic Mayonnaise (I don’t much like mayo – I like this a lot better even than Hellman’s / Best Foods’ mayo)

Tuna, peanut butter, olives, dried fruit, nuts, crackers and cereal. I keep more items it my pantry but those are my favorites.

I should add crackers are a constant staple in my house, and in the refrigerator will be cheese.

If you have favorite brands for any of the items that would be great.

^^ Trader Joe’s peanut butter because it’s pure. No additives or fillers.

Not exactly sure what question you are asking @JLeslie. There are lots of things in my pantry that I love, including (but not necessarily) specific brands. But I also have a lot of “staples” too. Things to make other things.

And then there are things that I always have on hand. Some of those things are favorites, and some of them are simply useful.

Here are some items that are currently in my pantry:

Jif peanut butter

Canned beans of all types (brand doesn’t matter)

Spaghetti, elbow pasta, and bowtie pasta (brand doesn’t matter)

About a hundred different spices of different brands, but some are from Penzeys, Trader Joes, Dollar Tree off-brands, Target, McCormick, some from Indian, Middle Eastern, and Japanese markets etc.

Mustard (doesn’t matter which brand)

Vinegars of all types, including regular white, rice, balsamic, red wine, and apple cider.

Olive oil (Trader Joe’s)

Canola oil (Target’s Market Pantry brand)

Canned tomatoes, sauce, and paste (brand doesn’t matter).

Several cartons of soup from Trader Joe’s.

Several different brands of ramen noodles that are either specifically vegan, or that are specifically not fried. In other words, not the typical Top Ramen or Maruchan or similar “unhealthy” types. McDougal’s is one of the brands I have. I also have some from Annie Chun, Thai Noodles, and Trader Joe’s.

Many different jars of salsa and hot sauce of different brands.

Several jars Indian sauces (Patak’s, and Trader Joe’s)

Panko bread crumbs.

Oatmeal (old fashioned rolled oats, Target’s Market Pantry brand).

Nuts of all kinds: peanuts, almonds, pecans, walnuts, and pistachios.

Dried fruit: cranberries, prunes, raisins, strawberries, and apricots.

Dried grains: rice, cracked wheat, barley, quinoa, and farro.

Canned pineapple.

Canned evaporated milk.

Canned pumpkin.

Triscuit crackers.

Trader Joe’s graham crackers.

Baking staples (white sugar, brown sugar, powdered sugar, flour, baking powder, baking soda, Bisquick).

Cereal: Raisin Bran (Target Market Pantry) and Crispy Rice (Trader Joe’s) and Grapenuts.

Instant coffee.

Several bottles of BBQ sauce (different brands).

Lots of tea bags and loose leaf tea of different brands, both decaf and regular, plus green tea, mint tea, and chamomile.

@Kardamom I didn’t word it well. I just meant a few items people would suggest to others, not a basic rundown. Very specific like a certain brand of favorite things that you might bring to a pantry party to gift to someone or recommend to people as a favorite item. Like a certain brand and flavor of pasta sauce or a favorite brand of pecan pralines, or even very basic staple items like a favorite bread.

Pantry is more difficult, I have many more specialty items in my freezer that I’m very brand loyal to.
