My shortest is one block. To get a haircut in a heat wave. Longest is $25 to Tony Roma’s restaurant and Chapter’s book store on the far side of the city. Also a couple of times to Costco.

What is your shortest is and longest taxi rides?

Longest -> Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv to my hotel in Jerusalem – about 50 km, about 50 minutes.

and

LAX Airport to Rancho Cucamonga, CA -> 61 miles about 75 miles

shortest? 5–6 blocks in NYC. I had a bad leg.

@elbanditoroso @all How much did both rides cost?

Longest taxi ride – - about 5 miles from Grand Central Station to Chinatown NYC.

Shortest taxi ride – - ¾ of a mile airport to hotel with luggage.

Limo ride from Hartford CT to JFK airport 3 hours and 120 miles.

Shortest was 3 blocks in frigid cold. I probably would not have bothered if I were alone, but the people I was with couldn’t take it anymore and the cab was there. I don’t remember the cost, maybe $5.

Longest I think about 50 miles. I’ve done that more than once. Cost $50—$80. It would probably be more now.

An hour, approximately.
An hour to clubs, when I was in my twenties (with 3 or 4 others in a stretched Mercedes), in the Netherlands (flat land)
An hour from airport to village, over mountainous land, in Greece.

My longest taxi ride was in India from Trivandrum to the Western Ghats. It was only about 40 miles and was actually a rickshaw rather than a taxi. The shortest was in London from our hotel to the railway station and was about 300 yards but we had lots of luggage. Both journeys cost about the same.

Longest: Concord to the Oakland Airport.

Shortest: 3 blocks (but I had a lot of luggage).

Shortest Ride was in Boston from my office to the North station to make the train. I didn’t want to wait another hour for the next train. 1 mile and made it.

Longest Ride was from South West of Houston to Bush Intercontinental Airport North of Houston. 58 miles. Made my flight

I think… about 33 miles was the longest – rides between a city and its airport.

I don’t remember any especially short taxi rides… well, maybe I can think of one that was about 2.6 miles, when I was a kid, to get from one shop to another in the summer. But probably it would be one of various short hops made in places like Rome or London when something like rain or not knowing the exact way to a place was a factor.

Same as @loli. I’ve always had a vehicle.

Shortest, I don’t remember. Longest would be from my parents’ house to NYC to visit family, which is about a 45 minute ride.
