I'd like to get a new laptop for digital art and animation. Any suggestions?
I’ll be needing a nice laptop that I can do digital art on for classes, but I’m not sure on what would be the best kind. What are some good options that won’t be slow?

You need to do better than that. You’re going about this backwards.
What sorts of software will you be using for your art? What are the software needs in terms of RAM and processor speed? Once you have an understanding of what your actual requirements are, you can look for a machine that meets those requirements.
Do you have to have a laptop?
By the time you outfit a laptop with the power and storage you will need, you could afford a powerful desktop box and a good LARGE monitor so you can see what you’re doing.
