I don’t know, but I heard that people in India threw dead people into the river because they couldn’t deal with all the dead body. That doesn’t look good for the environment.
@janbb: Here, a lot of office workers were working from home from March of 2020 to spring or summer of 2021. The County I worked for still has most office people working only a few days a week. Some local friends are working from home permanently.
@jca2 That’s true but I still don’t see that as having a huge effect on the environment whereas the total shutdown did. At least around here this summer, traffic was back at normal levels.
Because of WFH, our consumption of gasoline has been much, much lower than it was 1.5 years ago. Home energy consumption went up because we used more heating and cooling. And we cut down our air travel a lot. I think we generated less CO2 because of Covid.
