No, I would not. Didn’t they also try it in a(n apparently) forgettable TV series back in the 1980s – Young Indiana Jones or something. I didn’t like that. I didn’t even really like putting Sean Connery in as Indy’s dad, nor the rest of that film, and I didn’t even bother to see the later effort. Ford’s doing another one now, which is getting panned by skeptics, though I’m open minded.
Really I think Hollywood ought to start being open to more actually good writers, with new characters, and much more intelligent scripts than the stupid and rehashed crap that they’ve been shoveling out for far too long.
It’s not like Indiana Jones was a brilliantly original character in the first place. There’s plenty of room for other pulp 1930s adventure stories without rehashing that character. IF they’d only use actual good writers.
