Why do you suppose it is that every vacuum bottle or such thermal device I’ve tried inevitably declines in its ability to keep things cold?

I’ve actually been keeping track, and it’s true every time. The current can has declined to the extent that unlike its debut, when you could fill the thing with ice and find chips floating in the frigid water 24 hours later, today, when I attempt the same procedure, within 10 minutes the exterior is noticeably cold to the touch. Within 20 minutes that same exterior is sweating to the extent that I approach it with a paper towel.
