Do you think I'll be fired for this?

“Great Question” (1points)

I started a new job 2 weeks ago. During onboarding they gave me a form and said I have 30 days to fill it out. It asks for a lot of personal information like my street address and email address. I don’t know exactly what its for. Also, they asked if I have a disability. I have autism so I said yes. They gave me another form that my doctor has to fill out. That has to be done in 30 days too. I went to my doctors a couple days ago and they took the form and they said they’d give me a call. I’ve been procrastinating and haven’t had any form filled out, and I’m afraid I’ll be fired for it. Do you think I will?

Of course we have no idea about company policy or your supervisor’s way of enforcing it. I couldn’t guess if you’d be fired.

I notice you’ve been very concerned about other people doing their jobs right. In this case, it’s your responsibility. You already know what you have to do. Just do it.

EVERY job asks for your street address & email address as well as a LOT of other personal info. That is necessary for their personnel profiles. They give a 30 day deadline as a way to control how they get their info & finish processing your hiring process. NOT turning in your paperwork within that 30 days might show them that you aren’t serious about your job,but as long as you’re doing your job properly, I doubt that they’d use it as a reason to fire you, but there is NO way for anybody here to know how they choose to run their company!!!

I took your question to mean will you be fired for having autism. That would be illegal.

As for the doctor filling out the form in a timely manner, call him in a week and ask if the form is ready. Stay on top of it so you can get it back from the doctor and hand it in to your job within the 30 days.

Fill out the forms. You know this, why ask a group of strangers?
