Bittersweet day for me on many levels but I’m just doing my regular things.

Actually, no, the controversy here is that so many people think it’s stupid and just a commercial opportunity.
I personally like Mothers Day, and I want to celebrate by taking an emotional break from the BIG controversy.

Running to Costco to buy a hibiscus tree. They have them every year and I buy one or two to put in a huge pot on the deck. I’m afraid if I wait till tomorrow, they’ll be sold out.

I have a “pro-choice” photo I want to post to FB, as a new profile pic, but will wait for another day. I want to keep Mother’s Day for what it is, and do the “controversial” for another day. I’m not usually one to post my politics on FB, but this is an issue I feel strongly about. A few years ago, I participated in a local pro choice rally, and I have a TV news photo from that day, which is what I am going to use.

@canidmajor Got it. Sorry for putting words in your mouth. I generally like Mother’s and Father’s Day too.

Happy Mother’s Day to all of you wonderful moms that have done what I don’t think I could’ve ever done. Which is to raise little humans. This is also for the dads who had to be the moms.

It was a good Mother’s Day. My daughter and I took my wife out for a yummy brunch in Cambridge and then gave her a bunch of nice gifts.

My daughter’s “love language” (as they say) is buying you a whole new wardrobe for the season.
