If I know the mistake I made, I will correct it. But as anyone who has read my answers on fluther knows, I am not a great typist, and when the letters are just asterisks in a password, I usually clear it out and start over.

Most password entries have to be restarted if you make an unkown mistake and hit enter anyway.

I only correct it if I know the exact mistake I made. The majority of the time, I erase the whole entry and start over.

I will redo it to make sure.

I turn on the “show password” so I can see where I made a mistake, correct it, & then turn on the “hide password”, followed by hit enter!!!

It depends where the wrong password is typed. Such as, In linux command shell, you can only start over if you type the wrong password but in windows and websites you can delete the specific words to correct it.

I usually fix the letters that I typed wrong, if the wrongly typed letter is up to third from the last, otherwise I type the whole password all over again.

If you’re in a personal system then you can use the feature called “show password”, and this will help you type the correct password.

At the end it all comes down to one’s own comfort. How do you prefer to correct it is up to you.

I use a password manager since it’s impossible to remember all of the unique strong passwords for the sites or accounts I access.

I can’t remember the last time I “typed” a password. If I don’t use biometric (fingerprint) entry the password is entered automatically via the password manager or I copy & paste it from the password manager.
