Why are the squirrels constantly chattering around my yard?

“Great Question” (5points)

I thought it was machinery like sprinklers but for the past few weeks there has been almost a constant noise of chattering. I’ve identified it as squirrels but I’ve never heard it this much before.

Anyone have any thoughts? Humor is also welcome.

The babies are teenagers now and are gossiping mercilessly about the ones with less fluffy tails.
At my house, the gentle, pinkish-grey doves keep the squirrels in line with weird intimidation techniques, so they are not as loud.
Except when they taunt the dog.

I need to get out moreā€¦.

They are talking about you. One of them peeked in the window and saw you naked and now they are all waiting for their chance to see you naked.

Some female squirrels come into heat this time of year, others in December. Yours are in heat and they are the ones making noise because of all the males who want a piece of the action and won’t leave them alone.
