“Great Question” (3points)

I work for a commercial cleaning company and at one of the buildings I clean, there are a couple house next door. Well about an hour ago I heard a dog crying very loudly. Although I didn’t hear any slaps or anything. It was just the dog crying. Should I report it to the police? Idk the exact address it came from but I know the direction it came from.

I would. Call the 311 non emergency number and make a report. They might respond and they might not. But nothing ventured nothing gained.

Should I wait until my shift is over and then walk over there and try in get the address? It won’t be for another hour or so.

I’d try to stay out of it as much as possible, just point it out the the best you can when they get there. Never know about people these days.

So wait until the police arrive?

Nomore_Tantrums's avatar

Correct. If they arrive.

It is prudent to contact the authorities for any disturbances.

I don’t know what country you’re in, but in the USA, I would see if the ASPCA had a local office that would investigate. Or, if it sounded severe enough, the police.

I just saw something on a local FB group about two dogs that were found locked in a dog crate in the woods, and they were crying for help and luckily, someone heard them. They’re now in safe hands. People can be so cruel. Call and let us know how things go, please.

Some dogs sound injured when they whine, leave the police alone and don’t waste their time unless you have actual knowledge that an animal is being abused.
