Do you get offended easily?
I just got back from seeing comedian Mark Normand perform at a comedy club, and he was hilarious.
He’s extremely politically incorrect, but always handles the material in a way where you can tell that he’s not punching down. He asked if there were any immigrants in the audience, and some guy raised his hand and Norman says “I hope that question wasn’t too over the line.” The guy who raised his hand laughed hysterically and took the joke well.
With 5 minutes left of his set, Normand joked around and said “So I’ve made fun of white people, gay people, black people, Immigrants, Jews, Christians, and Muslims, what should I talk about next?”
Some guy screams out “China!” Normand asks “Any Chinese people here?” No one responds. The guy yells back “Of course not!”
Mark Normand quickly jokes “You know, you have a very OxyContin kind of yell. I can be your sponsor.”
This guy got more offended than the other person I mentioned. He continued to yell and then ended up walking out of the show.
If you were at a comedy show do you think you’d get offended easily? Or just roll with it?
