David Pallides is the most notable, he’s a retired San Francisco police detective who posts You Tube vids on missing campers and hikers. But other people have gotten aboard now too. In most cases these people disappear with no trace and are never found..Happening more frequently in the US and Canada.

I heard about that. It’s quite a popular mystery around the Internet. But it also leads to a lot of conspiracy theories and supernatural stuff. That’s because there is just no rational explanation to any of those cases.

But this is the first time I’ve heard someone say “movement”. Is there some kind of movement to push awareness about this phenomenon that I haven’t heard about? I thought it was just some obscure mystery the Internet makes a fuss about.

There seem to be more and more YouTubers making vids about these cases, and pushing for some kind of answers. But I think the Park Service is as much in the dark as anyone..very wierd shit going on.

You should check out Kyle Polichs analysis of the claims. There’s nothing genuinely unusual about any of the disappearances. Also, I’m not surprised it happens more frequently in the US national parks as they are significantly bigger than most in Europe for example and (in my experience) themaps aren’t of the same quality. So, there are more people using the parks, it’s easier to get lost and get into trouble and harder to be found.

But there have been many cases where, if they are found, they have no memory of what happened or where they had been. And in rare cases where bodies are found, they are often found miles from where they were reported missing, and in strange places. On top of cliffs for instance.

This reeks of the alien abductions of the 1970s-80s except nobody is using the words “alien abduction” due to the ridicule that is attached to it!!!

I think it is so strange that people can just go missing out of nowhere and many are never even found. It is scary to think that happens and does make me a little apprehensive to go places by myself. I try to be vigilant about my surroundings and make sure someone is always in the area but that may not be enough and that is a bit daunting.

The only missing 411 that U pay any attention is that in the old days, you could dial “411” on your phone and the phone company would look up a person’s phone number for you.

This is just an urban legend.

I am currently on a cruise ship in Alaska (heading to Canada tomorrow). We have been in national parks the last few days. I haven’t heard anything about this. If it was happening, I think we would have been told.

It’s honestly a load of horse-shit that anything weird is going on. Most of this can be explained as textbook hypothermia.
