Can one damage an automatic blood pressure cuff by removing it while it is in use?

It hurt a lot and I took it off while it was still inflating.

Doubtful. If it isn’t working well it might need new batteries.

I don’t think so. It will probably give you an error code because you caused it to not work properly. You probably just need to turn it off, remove the battery for maybe 30 seconds, put the battery back in, & turn it back on. It should go back to working. I hate doing my blood pressure because the pump up ALWAYS feels painful; however, IF I tough it out, it seems to work as intended. You sure you bought the right sized cuff???

^^Sometimes when it isn’t reading correctly it gets very very tight on the arm trying to measure very high pressure like 200.

Of course you can damage it depending on how you removed it.

@JLeslie The cuff itself doesn’t have batteries.

I imagine anything can be damaged if treated roughly enough.

No, the machine probably just gets confused.

No. Unless you used scissors or knife to take it off.
