Were apple jacks named after the alcoholic drink named applejack?
It seems unusual a children’s cereal would get named after an alcoholic beverage. Maybe they liked applejack and in the time it was named, it didn’t seem like an offense to name a children’s cereal after an unhealthy adult drink.
