The difference between friend and pest

I have been lucky to not experience this. I think you handled it well.

No. I’ve known people like that but they weren’t friends.

I presently have a new neighbor in my apartment building who is becomming a “pest” as she always is asking favors and some of her requests are a bit much to ask others to take on her tasks ( cleaning out her storage room, driving her to appointments at the last minute, drama queen to get things from others)

She has only lived here for a few months and is already a problem.

I stay clear of any requests from her as a reault..she is ALWAYS out to use others for her own gain.
Not a friend but she trys to connect as a friend with me , but too late I know that she is a manipulator and got burned once when I first met her, never again.
She seems to have an attitude of entitelment from others.

There are plenty of people in this world that are like that. They are not your friend. They are an acquaintance that is using you for their own benefit.
I had an ex-wife that was just like this..

I do not consider those who only come to me when they need help friends. They are simply using me.

I am constantly having people knocking at my door asking for help with problems and it is in my nature to help them as best as I can if possible.

I also find that many of those who do help don’t want to know me after and quite a number of those end up ‘stabbing me in the back’.
