I just learned that the famous TV series “The Waltons” was actually based on Earl Hamner Jr autobiography.
I find that it’s an inspiration for writing one’s autobiography and possibly resulting in a movie or TV series to be created from it.

I tried to animate the opacity of an object in 3ds Max and Vray.
I wasted hours on trying to animate the texmap opacity, the rgb output values, nothing worked. It just popped into existence at the middle of the time segment.
Until it just hit me that the opacity mode of the material was still set to clip instead of normal or stochastic.

The short answer is that it’s a technique to reduce the size of stars in astrophotographs.

@Inspired_2write Sort of. Yes, that is one of the sources that I used. Okay, I’ll give a longer answer.

In astrophotography images come off the camera very dark, which makes sense since astronomical objects (except bright ones like planets, moon, sun, etc) are very dim. In order to bring them out you need to do “stretches” of the data, meaning that you make the dim bits visible. The problem is that the stars are bright and when you stretch the dim nebula, the pesky stars become much brighter and bloated. Much of astrophotography is trying to control the stars and there are several techniques for doing so. The one linked to above is one of the latest techniques and that’s what I learned.

@RedDeerGuy1 Have you tried taking a Chip Ahoy & putting it in a microwave for 5–10 seconds. It tastes likes it just came out of the oven but you need to eat it fast or it gets too hard!!! I don’t eat them often, but they are delicious when I do!!! WHY eat only 2 cookies when you can easily eat 10??? for the same price!!! ;-}

A 7yo pointed out that the colors in the second rainbow in a double rainbow are reverse.

I felt a bit silly that I hadn’t noticed that before. Probably too busy gesticulating wildly about a double rainbow. Haha
