What's "date time"?

“Great Question” (4points)

And if it is what I think it is, why is it a thing.

(I think it is when couples schedule a “date” while they are already together, so dating wouldn’t (necessarily) be needed anymore?)

If I understand correctly, it’s a date for an established couple. It’s a way to enhance romance. It’s a way to bond closer.

It’s usually called “date night.” We never called it that, but when our kids were young, my husband and I would regularly get a baby sitter and go out to eat on Friday night. It was a way to stay connected. Later, when we were partly retired and both off on Fridays, we would go to a local bar and grill on Thursday nights and chat.

We always called it Date night.
Date time is a confusing term.

You guys are right; I meant to write “date night”, came up with “date time”, and knew it wasn’t right, but hoped I was temporarily dazed, and it was “time”.....

You seem to be talking about the context of a date as in courting. When I read the headline, i thought you were asking about in computing where one often says datetime to talk about a date that INCLUDES a time component. Also called an Instant or Timestamp.

But now I see that’s not what you meant.

That’s a term we use ourselves, on rare nights when the grands aren’t home with us and we actually have time go out to eat or to a movie. That doesn’t entail Shrek or those goofy little one eyed things. Minions I think they’re called. Staple in kiddo flicks these days.

I aver 8:00 PM is the most common date time based on my memory.
