I'm thinking about getting Street Fighter 6 (after all dlc and everything else is over), but I have a question, can someone answer?

I’m familiar with the franchise and characters (Ryu, Chun-Li, Ken, and a few others), but I’m wondering whether or not to watch a story mode on YouTube to fully understand the franchise and more of the characters before playing Street Fighter 6 (or V depending on how long I wait). Do you have any suggestions? I would appreciate it.

To be honest Street Fighter is one of those games where the story is secondary to the game play. It’s mainly competitive online game with the story mode being primarily the ‘tutorial’. Knowing the story probably doesn’t really effect your ability to play or enjoy the game.
