Yes, I tried two, I couldn’t take them because of side effects, but they were incredibly effective. I took the lowest dose and my cholesterol dropped 80 points in a few weeks.
My dad has been taking statins for 30 years and I think it’s part of the reason he’s still alive, maybe most of the reason. He does come up pre-diabetic for years on tests, which is possibly from the statins, but he is also 40–50 pounds overweight. He doesn’t need to take any medicine for the pre-diabetes.
The husband of a friend of mine also is suddenly having sugar problems and he started statins around the same time. For some reason the doctor never mentioned the statins might be the cause. He had a heart attack, which is why he was put on a statin, so maybe the doctor just feels it’s too important.
My mom can’t take statins so she takes Colestid.
They say red yeast rice creates a natural statin effect if you want to try it. It can have the same side effects as statins.
I think if you have no obvious negative side effects and your cholesterol is high, statins are life extending drugs.
That’s my non-medical opinion.
