We actually asked a question that was similar to: “How many responses can we get to this?” Last I knew it was in the 1,000s. It’s here in meta somewhere, shouldn’t be too far down since meta doesn’t have as much activity. I remember it taking about 1 minute to load.

“How many answers can we get on this thread?

I think.

There was the CIA question about 10 years ago that was so big it would usually crash the browser when you tried to load it if I’m remembering correctly.

If Fluthers search function was working I’d have a look for it.

@Lightlyseared Sometimes when I want to find something on Fluther, I go to Google or other search engine and I just type in Fluther ________ and see if it comes up that way.

Jons_Blond's avatar

Until recently it was Blondejon’s hijack thread in meta. Now I believe it’s the one @smudges mentioned. I think @raum asked that question.

Next up I believe is the wedding proposal Q from whatthefluther.

^It’s “Please hijack this thread” from Blondesjon. In third place is a music question from Astrochuck.

While it doesn’t have the most responses, it probably has the most GQ’s. Here’s Gary’s marriage proposal.

@Jonsblond I knew it was the most something! My nomination for one of the best ever Fluther threads!

How many GAs and or answers to the jelly that saved another jellies life? I’m on my phone and can’t find it. Do you all remember that one?

Brian1946's avatar

@chyna

I think you’re referring to the one where it was discovered that judochop had a burst appendix:

That’s it!

@janbb, that one always comes to mind as peak Fluther.

@RayaHope, if you want to see what old Fluther looked and felt like, click @jonsblond’s link.

(Do we have to explain that Gary has ?M.S. and Sherry was his caregiver for years before they married? Also I guess we should add the last chapter . . .)

RayaHope's avatar

@Jeruba OMG! I just went through that (mostly) WOW, I have teary eyes it’s hard to type. Any idea what they are doing now?

Jons_Blond's avatar

^He passed away a few years ago due to MS. :(

Edit: probably more like several years ago but it feels like yesterday.

^^ I just read the question and responses, then read the above. RIP Gary :(

Makes you wonder whatever happened to all of those amazing jellies who were so close – why did they leave beautiful Fluther Lagoon. Makes me sad. Souls come together, then part. Why does it have to be? I’ve said goodby to so many significant people in my life – I’d guess close to 100. One was a Dallas police officer who helped me when I was 15 and felt unloved and was skipping school – William Stanton. Always meant to write and thank him, but never did and regret it. It would have meant something to him.

So many souls we know and love who leave us.

Jons_Blond's avatar

@smudges Most of them are still friends. They just aren’t active on Fluther.

smudges's avatar

^^ Thanks, I needed to hear that. ;)

Jons_Blond's avatar

@smudges There’s a group of us who are in a fantasy football league together. We stay in contact on Facebook and a group chat in messenger. I’m the only one who is still active here. The rest haven’t logged in in years.

smudges's avatar

That lightens my heart to hear, really. Thank you. Happy for you guys. :)

Jons_Blond's avatar

Fluther has brought a lot of people together. It really is amazing. :)

^ Agreed. Slightly off-topic, but I met my husband via Fluther as well. Not sure if it counts as a true Fluther romance because he was only active on our short-lived sister site “Jelly”...but without Fluther, I wouldn’t have heard of Jelly, and we would certainly not be together. We grew up 4000 miles apart. Thanks, Bendrew ♥
