Do you have any interest in these “alternative” biopics that Hollywood is starting to churn out?
I just recently watched “Elvis” and “Blonde” and I thought both of them were absolutely dire.
Elvis focuses on Colonel Tom Parker and treats Elvis as a supporting character in his own movie, while Blonde is a fictionalized biopic of Marilyn Monroe and only focuses on her trauma, ignoring her talents as a brilliant comedian.
Funnily enough, the completely fictional film “Tár” comes across as more of a legitimate biopic about a composer, treating her character as a historical person, going into way more depth than Elvis and Blonde.
