Mostly when I was a kid and I made requests that I knew my parents were going to say a big fat no to. But occasionally they would surprise me by saying yes.
Sometimes in life, you have to ask things that you know are going to be rejected or at least believe are going to be rejected. If you don’t ask, then you have no one to blame but yourself. For instance. A salary increase. You really don’t know if your boss is going to say no, but if you don’t ask, then you already decided the answer.
Now if you are asking about asking a question in Fluther. Then no, because there is no way of knowing how multiple people are going to respond, and if I ask a question here it’s because I’m not even 100 percent sure what the answers will be and how they may influence what I believed the answer might be.
If I’m 100 percent sure of the answer then it’s a waste of time to ask. It’s like watching the rain and asking someone next to me if its raining. I’ve got eyes.
