What made you smile today?

“Great Question” (5points)

The donut shop was completely sold out of donuts! Their stuff is good. I really like the family who owns the place. They’re immigrants from somewhere Spanish speaking. They had a few cinnamon rolls left, so I bought that instead of a donut. I’m very happy for them to be doing so well.

When did you last smile?

My biggest smile occurred when I logged onto Fluther this morning to discover everything was back to normal!!! We were also supposed to be having horrible thunderstorms with possible tornadoes today & that hasn’t materialized as yet. Might happen before the day is over; but for now, we’re good!!! :-)

I had breakfast with an old friend. He was telling me about how he got 100s on his Algebra II tests the entire year. He said he got 100 on his report card! This happened over 60 years ago but he expressed such joy telling me about it his smile was infectious.
I am smiling now just thinking about it!

First it was something on here that made me smile this morning. Then later at the gym someone caught my eye.

Back on March 1st we stayed at a hotel near Disney. I told a hotel staff member through chat that we were coming to celebrate our 30th anniversary. Long story short, the hotel surprised us with balloons, a small box of chocolates, and a Happy Anniversary card signed by all of the staff members! I will keep that card forever! We loved it.

My husband had been reluctant about getting an Annual Pass at Disney, but he went along with it. I planned going on one of the new rides as our first ride, because I had a hunch he would really like it. I didn’t ride it because of my chance of triggering my vertigo, I just did the line with him, and then bailed right before boarding the cars. He came off of the ride smiling and said it was awesome! I was so happy.

Other very happy things happened during our two days at Disney: We had good food (I have low expectations in theme parks). The fireworks show in EPCOT was spectacular, that was another thing I was so happy about, because my husband liked them as much as I did. I road Soarin’, which is one of my favorite rides in the whole park. In Animal Kingdom we watched the Tough to be a Bug show and the little boy sitting near us was so funny. He was responding to all of the 3D stuff flying at him, and the show is very funny, he caught on to all of the jokes. We laughed and smiled during the whole show.

I made an incredibly delicious grilled cheese today. It was four cheese. I made a mixture of whipped creamed cheese and shaved Parmesan and spread it on buttered fresh sourdough. I then added sliced applewood smoked cheddar Gruyère and applewood smoked Gouda. I topped the cheese off with sliced grape tomato.

I gave my son a taste and he loved it so much I went ahead and gave him half.

My friend’s kid. She’s three, and she was so happy at getting to eat an apple and a fruit pouch. She said “I want both”, like that was a great privilege. Then, she threw her baby doll in the ice-cold stream for a bath, and got tremendously excited about taking her home to be toweled-off and blow-dried.
