No, but I’ve accidentally stood up other people before (ouch).

Not sure. I got a call from a girl who wanted to meet up with me but she didn’t identify herself. We agreed to meet at a local singles bar, but she never showed.
Possibly, she was looking for another guy that also had the same name.

Once. Yes, he called back but I didn’t answer. Turned out that I met a really nice guy while waiting & we dated exclusively for the next 15 years. So, I’ll never know what excuse the stand-me-up guy came up with & I really did NOT care as I got the best end of the deal!!!

@LadyMarissa But I lost your number, honest! (joking, lol) Score!

Yep. Once. By Rick. I didn’t speak to him again for 4 years.

@Dutchess_III What happened when talked to him after the 4 years?

Yes. Not a romantic date, but a date nonetheless. Just went on to the next, no need harping on a slight loss.

@Dig_Dug I might have forgiven him IF he had used that one. He called twice, I didn’t answer & he left NO message, so I wrote him off!!! Since I met a GREAT guy in the process, I chalked that one up to one of those things in life that was just “supposed to happen”. Had it not been for him standing me up, I wouldn’t have been there to meet the great guy. Hmmm…maybe I should have answered just so I could have said THANK YOU for standing me up!!! ;-}

Never had that experience. Did have a few dates where I could have set up a camp and started a fire waiting for them to get ready. Glad those days are long over.

Yes. Happened before cell phones. We were “set-up” by a friend. We were supposed to meet at a restaurant, I waited for forty minutes past the agreed upon time.

The mutual friend said she later said she had forgotten and took a nap. If she had called later to apologize I would have been open to going out, but since she did not, I did not call her.

We had a impromptu double date thing come up and I think we set up the wrong meeting spot. So we sit in the car waiting like idiots for quite a while until we finally say, “screw it!” and leave. :D

Flaking is common in the gay world. I can’t begin to imagine how many times it’s happened to me.

Standing someone up is the epitomy of rudeness. Of you don’t want a date don’t ask her out in the first place. Problem solved.

Several times by the same person.
I am a very forgiving chump

Not that I recall. I am high on respectful communication. Nor have I never been a no-show.

Once – I was dating a cute blond and I think she decided I was too boring (I probably was), so went ahead and ghosted me. It was fun while it lasted.

Dig_Dug's avatar

@RocketGuy (yawn)...oh, what was that? jk ;)

Dutchess_III's avatar

@Dig_Dug,....well he came to my house, we had sex, and we’ve been married 20 years now.

Dig_Dug's avatar

@Dutchess_III Ohhhh, so I take it must have worked out..hehe!

I was head over heels the moment I saw him. He felt the same about me. Now I know he’s absent minded. But I think I screamed a message loud and clear “Thou shalt not disrespect me!!!”
