The one above the blackboard above Robin Williams’ desk is Walt Whitman, who wrote “O Captain, My Captain”, the poem that is a central part of a lesson by WIlliams’ charachter.

Not entirely sure but I think it was Walt Whitman. Although I must say the movie was amazing and I loved Niels’s character. I think it’s a great movie for the youth today and they can reflect on the importance of pursuing what they truly love.

Spoiler: I don’t agree with suicide (just so people don’t bash me on that)
