No flooding at my house. This is because it’s on a 3-foot high foundation, which lies on a lot that’s about 3’ above street level.
I live in a basically flat part of the valley, although my street has a very gradual downward slope to the LA river, which is our primary drainage channel.
Consequently, this is a flood-free area; I’ve been living here for almost 50 years, and have never experienced any flooding.
The last time we had any appreciable summer rain here was in 2015, so for me this storm was a welcome relief from our usual fiery, hot, and dusty summers.
My heart goes out to the less-than-wealthy people who lost their homes during Hilary, to the residents of Phoenix, AZ who endured about a month of 110º+ heat, and especially the people of Lahaina, who lost their homes and their lives in a fire that never should have happened.
If I had as much money as Musk, I’d be reaching out to help these people, instead of buying a “free speech” forum for Nazis.
