Without being able to track to source (no one told me if they had been exposed) I can only guess at likelihood, which would be about 48 hours, maybe as much as 72 hours, although that is less likely.

Interesting Q. My husband and all four parents have had COVID in the past 3–5 months but none of them know how they were exposed.

I agree with you, anecdotally, that it seems to take longer for symptoms lately. Or at least a lot longer to test positive on a rapid antigen test. My mom was already over her major symptoms before she tested positive at home.

I just came across this:

Symptoms also might come on sooner for people who have been vaccinated and previously infected, said Dr. Michael Mina, a former Harvard epidemiologist who is now the chief science officer for eMed, a telehealth company. “Especially people who have been recently boosted,” he said, “if they get infected, they might become symptomatic 24 hours post-exposure, 48 hours post-exposure, really fast.”
