We would see their intent, and often tweek their designs to make it work. Or not if they deserved it.

A long time ago I went to the grocery store near work to get a sandwich for lunch. I saw a Mercedes backing up at the same time that an old Chevy stationwagon was backing up from the opposite side of the row. I wanted to see whether the Mercedes would keep going (as though the driver owned the parking lot), or if it would yield to the other car. He did not, so the two cars ended up backing into each other. Turned out he was the VP from my work. He moved his car to a spot next to the Chevy to assess the damages. I pulled into his former spot, hid my badge, and ran into the store to get my sandwich. My bias against Mercedes drivers was confirmed.
