Good news. I’m glad that it worked out well for the plants even though gophers as herbivorous and eat plant roots and tubers.
I’m not a wildlife expert or anything close to that. But if I was involved then I would have suggested introducing moles into the area instead of gophers. Moles work great aeration the soil as they hunt for underground insects, worms and grubs. Moles aerate the soil and bring it to the surface like gophers but they don’t eat the plants.
