Still dealing with long COVID? So sorry to hear it. I have not done one of those services but we do get our groceries delivered now. We did it when I had COVID last year and realized we should just be doing it like that from now on.

I use Hello Fresh. Very delicious, and ingredients become pre-portioned.
But you will still have to do chopping and cutting yourself.
They also own “Factor”, which delivers precooked meals that you chuck into the microwave. Glorified TV-dinners if you will. Never tried that, because I don’t see the point.

One of my girlfriends used Blue Apron for several years and really liked the meals. All of the ingredients are included with the right amounts but you do have to do the cooking.

I haven’t tried this one (sorry) but am thinking about it.

I don’t know about your insurance, but UHC will pay for them, although I don’t know the details. I’ve cut and pasted some info from their website:

I liked “Meals on Wheels”. Only down side is the lack of variety. Month after month.

@RedDeerGuy1 Meals on Wheels are supposed to be for homebound people. The quality and variety varies from town to town. My grandfather used to get it in a big city in New York state, and it was sandwiches, daily, which was not the most exciting, but it gave him lots of cartons of milk and lots of fruit, which was good to have on hand.

I have no personal experience with meal delivery plans but for some reason, right now in my FB feed, I am seeing ads for Hungry Root. The ads describe it as “Trader Joe’s quality food at Walmart prices.” Not sure about their pricing or quality. I know a lot of these plans have good deals for new members.

I think NY Times did a review of the plans in the past few years. Will see if I can find the deets.

@jca2 I had some meals from Chefs Plate. They were not appetizing, too difficult to make, and was a hassle to cancel the subscription.

Meals on wheels vary from region to region. I would love fresh fruit delivery. I get fruit and most of my foods from DoorDash, and instacart.
