I want to move to São Paulo, Brasil. Which currency is most efficient for me to exchange, euro or pound sterling?

“Great Question” (1points)

I’m planning on slowly saving up Traveler’s Cheques to move there [yes, semi-permanently]. The only conundrum before me now is deciding which currency would be the least painless.

Of course, the national currency is the Real, but the Traveler’s Cheque brand I am interested in purchasing [Thomas Cook] only offers the USD, Euro, and Pound Sterling.

Which do you think I should use?

Why traveller’s cheques?
Put your savings in some high interest rate deposit (ING-like) instead. In one year you will find yourself with +5%, and the choice of buying traveller’s cheques in different currencies still intact.
