A successful relationship should usually be based on trust and understanding…Is there a reason why you shouldn’t trust him or he shouldn’t trust you?

Welcome to the collective. If you are starting from scratch to build trust, it happens naturally over time.

You observe each other and see how the other person interacts with people other than you. Are they kind? is their word good? Do they follow through on promises?

You ask those similar questions as the two of you build a history together. Are you there for each other? Do you respect the other person’s opinion, even if it is different from yours?

That is how trust accumulates—gradually over time.

Rebuilding violated trust is a whole different thing.
