While it is human nature to blame everyone else for anything that goes wrong, I would hope that I would be able to recognize that I am ultimately responsible for myself.
@poofandmook – but aren’t you ultimately responsible for what you do though? I would think that no matter what someone else does or says, the end result is because of a choice that you made.
I don’t blame others for my decisions, but I readily take responsibility for their bad decisions. Feel free to do the same, if you like. I’ve got a twin-barreled blame trap. I can handle it!
I agree with Poof. While the decision you make is ultimately only yours to make, there are certain situations where the window of choice is very narrow. Though I’m guessing both parties would be involved in creating those factors.
@Tanti: yes, I’m responsible for what I do. But if the actions of others force me to have to choose between a bad decision and a worse decision… whereas if they hadn’t done [blank] I wouldn’t have had to make any decision at all… then I blame them for forcing me to make a bad decision.
I would in an instance where it would protect my reputation yet leave the other person’s reputation unscathed. If it had the possibility of hurting someone else then no way.
