I have trouble being duplicitous, being a first child and the daughter of an exacting father with x-ray pyschic ability. And I am on neither FB or MS. If you read my entries on my college listserv, I sound the same as I do here.

I am “myself” online where as in RL there are times where its not really appropriate to be completely open. IE my drug use. But with close friends or my girlfriend, i am no different in RL than i am online.

I’m EXACTLY the same: flat, pale-green, verbose, self-pitying, opinionated, and
committed to only one “family”.

If in real life I were somehow thrown into a room full of strangers with the intention of sitting around asking random ass questions; then yes, I’m the same as I am in real life.

But seeing as how I don’t normally interact this way in real life, I’d have to go with no.

I’m pretty much the same without all the typos.

I look much better in real life, otherwise everything else is the same.
Too much trouble to be otherwise.

Except I try not to get involved in four conversations at once and hop back and forth between them in person. Not to say it hasn’t been done…

Oh, and I don’t have the wealth of references at my fingertips at all times either.

I am the same. I’m too lazy to make something up, who has the time to do that and then keep up with what you’ve told to who? That’s too much like hard work as far as I’m concerned. I just don’t answer certain questions if I don’t want that part of my personality and/or private life to be public.

I am always the same…an open book. Although in real life I do cuss more!

I’m basically the same. My vocabulary is often better in real life because while I know a lot of words, I’m a horrific speller, so when typing I often dumb down my vocab to avoid words I can’t spell.

I might curse more in real life. But only when very angry, and I try not to ‘net while mad.

Wherever I go and whatever I do, I am the same old me. I hope people like me, but I will not represent a false or fake me to make you like me.

Re; spelling. I find that writing online helps my spelling . The mistakes leap out at me and I correct them. Sometimes I am so far off that I have to page thru the real dictionary that I keep by computer.

Are you kidding!?! I would never say the shit I say here in real life. I’d probably lose everything I have. I am constantly reminding myself that no one knows me here, so I can say that, and that, and that. All the stuff I say here is true, but who admits to being a cheater in real life? A communist? To hating themselves? To doing no work at work? Come on! Without anonymity that stuff is impossible.

People might think I’m a geek, but in fact, Im not, actually, not even closer, I don’t look like I sound, too bad it works both ways :s

I’m more “me” here. In real life I censor myself and try to be what people expect me to be. I can be honest here because I don’t have to see your faces when you’re disappointed or disgusted by me. I can’t deal with that in real life.

@Mac: I think I’ve probably read most of what you’ve written here. I have never been disappointed or disgusted by the REAL you. I think you should give it a shot in real life, too. You will be amazed at the weight lifted off your shoulders.

I am. but less orange. Other than that yup. Maybe less open about certain topics as quickly.

in real life, i curse more, am kind of silly, a little cynical, and am known for saying and doing some crazy stuff (like devious stuff). on fluther, sometimes i write some personal stuff that i don’t discuss with coworkers or casual friends. stuff i might not want out there, like discussions about sex. on several occasions with fluther, i have written my opinions about things, and although i was clear that it was my opinion, i felt like i was “jumped on” about it by some other flutherites, so i now hesitate to put some opinions on here.

I try to be.

i think i’m more open online in a way. also i consider myself a really awkward person, so i think i’m better socially online, i find it easier to approach people, haha. also i quote song lyrics more online. this does not turn out as well in real life.
