I welcome anthropomorphism in any response explaining plant behavior and ecosystems...it helps me remember.

check out juncus spiralis. Looks like chive but spiral-ly. Dont eat however. I got one this spring and have really enjoyed it.

I think the elephant ears are cute-looking plants. They are also named 'taro' I believe. I just learned about them last year when saw at a garden center. I had one but it didn't survive. Will try again soon. Smile. I am learning, before I was a black thumbed gardener, now it is brown striving to be green-thumbed gardener. :)

Marsh marigolds, wild blue flag, yellow iris pseudacorus, red lobelia, Joe Pye weed, cat tails, trillium, (where do you live, btw? That makes a difference in choosing wetland plants.) The Whiteflower farm online catalog might have suggestions for plants that like wet feet or wet legs.

Use them for research; don’t order anything. Water lilies or lotus if you are far enough south are gorgeous.

Or the easy-to-remember skunk cabbage. Smells like it sounds.
