Yes! I love it. Forget LightRoom. I have both. Aperture gives you great customization. It’s retouching tools are great and it’s so easy to make a simple photo look great. Also Organization is a lot like iPhoto. It’s got the same events feature. You can hover over an event to see the photos inside. You should play with it in the Apple Store.

i love it, some people i know get photoshop, and end up using only 10% of the program, and would be better off just using Aperture, and as Ryan already said, you can try it for 30 days, by the way, got your screen calibrated ? that’s even more important than any program…

Yea I’ve had it for a while and it’s great, the only thing is that I need to get a better camera so when I zoom in and want to edit something it’s not a grainy. I’m not sure how the print order stuff works, I have a photosmart by HP with picture paper so I just make my own. I also give it 4 out 5.

I have it and love it. I downloaded the trial version and was hooked – so I purchased it.

I used Lightroom for about 3 months and was unimpressed.

I’ve used Photoshop for 10 years (and teach it) – and I never use it for “darkroom work” anymore.

I have it and the entire CS4 suite. For me, I don’t use Aperture for, well really anything anymore, I do enjoy the multi-touch functionality (yet another hint the Diamond HAS TO BE REAL or I’ll freak out… even more so!) But then CS4 came along and dropped in all the multi-touch function and the power of adobe, so I stopped using it. I only ever use Lightroom to organize my photos, on the very rare occasions I do organize my photos!

It comes down to how much “power” you need, if you are looking for a step up from iPhoto, or Photoshop is ether 1) too expensive, or 2) too intimidating, get Aperture 2!

Aperture is an awesome tool. It is a natural extension of the way I need to organize and think about my photos. Like all Apple products, it doesn’t get in your face with ugly and superfluous interface elements. You can experiment with multiple versions of a master file, and never degrade your original. Additional versions do not take up any more disk space. You can add versions to multiple albums. Sharing to your mobileme gallery or flickr is easy. I’d recommend it as an essential tool for any serious amateur or professional photographer.
