How does HBO make money?

There aren’t any commercials! Is it the fact that you have to pay to have the channel?

They are a premium channel. Each subscriber pays per month to receive HBO. It is the same with SHOWTIME, STARZ, CINEMAX etc.

I agree with shadow. They’re a premium channel, and they also have pay-per-view.

They also make a lot of money on sales and rental of their series DVDs.

They also make money from product placement in the shows.

HBO is my number 1 priority. Even before internet.

DVD sales account for a large amount of profit. Also, the sales of distribution rights for each show, in each country, is a large amount of all entertainment revenues.
