Describe the whine. There aren’t any moving parts inside the air intake. It might just be the movement of the air.
The CAM is actually inside the motor. Mercedes V6 and I4 (which is used in the seabring) uses DOHC (Dual OverHead Camshafts) and they sit inside the “head” of each cylinder banks and are used to actuate the valves. 2 per bank. They are driven by chains and shouldn’t make whining noises but they might make “clicking” type sounds, especially if the engine is cold.
Whining from the engine bay is almost always belt related, and typically not a problem especially on newer cars, if its cold out the nylon and rubber based belts will contract and they might rub slightly or shift to a slightly different position on the pulleys that they move over.
