I’m going to their concert and because we won the tickets via a local radio station, we get to go backstage and meet and spend time with the band! MY QUESTION IS THIS! What kind if questions do I ask them? When I get home, I’ll list the Q&A’s. Please will you help me?

Honestly, if I got to backstage and met a band I wouldn’t spend my time grilling them. Why not focus on getting to know them? You could congratulate Pete Wentz on his new marriage and baby. That would probably be a good icebreaker. They do enough interviews everyday I’m sure they’d appreciate a regular person talking to them naturally as a fan.

With a little research you could find out what the other band members have going on in their personal lives and use that. But try not to ask specifics and sound creepy. :P

Just a thought.

P.S. Tell Patrick Stump there’s a girl in Northern Virginia with a few naughty ideas bouncing around her head.. just drop that in somewhere.

@asmonet, that’s what I mean, like kind of questions? What should I say? I have a very good client/friend who has a band, actually he and his brother Joel “Good Charlotte”. He, Benjamin as I call him, but better know by his fans as Benji. It was easy talking to him because he came into my store. I just don’t want to sound like an idiot. Or some wacked out groupie. What would be some cool question?

Don’t think questions, think statements.

Congratulations on the new baby, Pete! That must be amazing, right?
Patrick! I loved you on Law & Order. What was it like working on TV, really different from shooting videos I imagine, huh?
Joe, I’m starting to play guitar, got any tips? I know you really love Gibson’s, any reason?
Andy, I read somewhere you thought that civilization was going to collapse in on itself like a dying star, what makes you think that?

But don’t just throw them out one by one, use them as icebreakers or to fill in weird and awkward gaps in conversaton to get it oging again. when people are nervous, euen celebrities they don’t know what to say, and forcing them to talk about something they know fixes the situation right up. :)
