Best food in Anaheim and L.A.?

“Great Question” (1points)

My buddies and I are going on a road trip to Cali (from Louisiana!) over the Christmas holidays. We know people in Anaheim and Los Angeles so that is the intended destination but we’ll probably veer here and there along the way.

What are the best fast food and sit-in restaurants of California that you know of? Any random favorites not many people don’t know about? What are some fast-food chains home only to California?

(side note: I was pretty impressed when I had In N Out Burgers for the first time).

Fast food
In n Out
Del Taco (cheap Mexican food)
Rubio’s (fish tacos)
Chipotle (simple Mexican menu)

Sit down
Roscoe’s (in LA, chicken & waffles)
Langer’s deli (in LA, thanks Andrew)
Father’s Office (in LA, great beer, great fries, no ketchup, no table service)

Roscoe’s is sort of an LA landmark, great chicken and waffles.

If you happen to go to Disneyland, the food here is actually pretty good. It’s a much better value than anything in the park, plus there’s alcohol.

If you want to eat at the craziest Italian-American food joint in America, go to Angelo and Vinci’s.

Check out Irv’s Burgers on Santa Monica in West Hollywood. Amazing.
Philippe’s The Original for delicious French Dips.

Also, if you’re near Artesia (which I think you will be), check out Woodlands. Shoot-yourself-in-the-face good indian food.

Also, if you like cocktails, go to the Hungry Cat. Best mixed drinks in California.

Second best, Andrew. I haven’t mixed for you yet.

What about good Italian food? I’ve been craving Italian recently…

I remember Tommy Burgers, In and Out Burgers, and Yoshida’s Beef Bowls. That was a long time ago though. Our all time favorite that we took the kids to when we visited our old haunts was the Pantry in Downtown.
