I like the singing (year-end holidays anyway) ! Especially with the libations, woohoo!.
The top of my list is influenced by a thanksgiving tradition at my parents’ house in LA of blender margaritas (along with food of course!).
For the summer holidays we tend to make “drinkies” which are a couple shots in a tumbler with a lot of fruit juice and ice. The combination depends on what juice is in the fridge. Something like gin takes a strong statement from something like straight lime juice. While tequila or acai will play well with plenty of options, including lemonade.
A buddy and I did not have proper margarita fixings one occassion we got together to play some darts and we invented the Newton, with 3 parts tequilla, 2 parts Mezcal, 1 part triple sec with at least six parts apple juice and a bunch of ice, rocks or ‘frozen’ blender style.
These days if darts are involved at a holiday get-together (only if a small group of course, and only adults with some wits remaining need apply) Newtons have been high on the list.
