I have many years, this year however I looked at the ads online, and there’s nothing I would buy even at those prices. But after last years’ experience (standing in bitter cold to face unmanagable crowds, only to have everything you want sold out), I had kind of soured on it anyway. It was something I had done from the time I was very little up until last year…I lived in a smaller town where you could actually navigate and the things you wanted to buy were usually abundant. Now it’s become, OK, let’s put a PS3 for sale at half price and people start camping out at 10pm the night before, and get into fistfights when the doors open and they find out the whole store only has 2 of them, so even though they’re 3rd in line, they’ve wasted 8 hours of their lives for nothing.
I think the best bet is to look at the things that don’t have the highly limited quantities, then get out at an early but reasonable hour after the initial throng is gone and it’s just crazy busy and not batshit crazy busy.
