I don’t think it’s a terrible idea. If you’re fingerprinted during an arrest, but later exonerated, they still have your prints on file. It seems pretty similar. As long as that information was kept very securely, and couldn’t be used against you by say…an insurance company or an employer, I really don’t have a problem with it.
