I suffer from this too, and trying to quit,..and my life & all my dreams is suffering from it, really.
what i’ve found to be somewhat “succesful” (although i’m still faaar from 100% success, boy, how dangerous FB can be!), after browsing around, and pondering through, is these two principles:
1. know the obvious: Facebook (& Internet) is NOT you. You are far more BIGGER than that that! treat Facebook only as your TOOL, instead of become a SLAVE of it. you are the Master, not the slave!
2. i guess we can use this “golden biblical” principle of: “you reap what you sow”.
so if you spend your time (& ur life) facebook-ing in a virtual world (as opposed to in the REAL world/life), then you’ll get more…..in virtual world also! (as opposed to getting REAL things in REAL life).
if you do REAL things, then you’ll surely have more chances of getting REAL results too.
but yeah, i do agree, talk is easier than done.
but whenever I remember these two principles now, I feel that now I can be more in-control, instead of being controlled by it.
oh, and another one very important thing:
have a Purpose or Goal in ur life, so that will stay as ur first priority, before anything else, and especially, Facebook.
good luck!
