They’re like beanies.. (for girls) but worn further back on the head.. They’re like the one in this pic, the girl on the left (sorry for the weirdness of the pic, its all i could find) http://photos-e.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-sf2p/v198/46/11/504554636/n504554636_322956_4748.jpg

They’re like that but worn a little further back, and they’re smaller. Anyone know?!?!

It looks kind like a beret, just worn differently from the French way. I’ve seen them worn like that on the back of the head.

It is a form of beret. You can wear them at whatever rakish angle you want.

It looks like rasta style to me. It is called a tam. The link is to many images of tam hats.

On a lark I googled “knit beret” after checking out the tams and they are nigh indistinguishable at times. Go for either.

Ahhhh. @ daloon and empress, TY :D

Yes, it is a variation of the rasta hat called the tam. Worn in full rasta style, one stuffs one’s hair inside it (presumably in dreadlocks).

Here’s a link to some pictures of a “simon” tam. The photo is similar to your example. This is what she says about tams:

Simon is a hat. A tam, to be exact. Made for people (like me) with lots and lots of hair to shove under there. Or just for people who like big, floppy hats. It’s named after a character from the television show Firefly, because his last name was Tam and I couldn’t think of the word without thinking of him. And yes, I am planning a River Tam.

Oops. This is the proper link (I hope).

This? Definitely berets. Urban Outfitters and H&M are selling them by the gazillions these days.
