I guess it’s a hierarchy thing, pretty pointless really as regards reward.
It would be worth something if you achieved a landmark score then fluther gave an amount of money to your chosen Charity.
Shall we start a petition?
I’m not sure Fluther generates the kind of revenue to allow for free t-shirts or charity donations. I don’t think they even pay the mods.
Lurve is just a way of seeing how many people have hit “great answer” on your quips and a little bit for how many people have added you to their fluther and for logging in each day. It’s a measure of experience with the site and of the esteem in which you’re held by fellow Flutherites. It’s a pat on the head and a thumb’s-up.
@laureth: Still, I think it’d be nice to give a shirt to the 10K club. :) It’d be a nice gesture of appreciation for contribution to the sites success and overall quality. But then, I think some people would step up the scamming efforts just for a free shirt. :-/
Fluther gains barely enough revenue to sustain Ben and Andrew. And laureth is right, the mods do their jobs for free. Lurve is about someone telling you “thank you for that wonderful quip/insightful question”. I don’t think it should be any more or any less than that.
